I love my job as a yoga teacher. I get to meet fabulous people from all walks of life trying to better their health and wellbeing. Truly, it's the bees knees. Sometimes though, even yoga teachers are left reaching for the thrill. After teaching multiple, attending trainings and keep fresh in my own practice, I am physically exhausted.
But today I was reminded why I teach and felt the first class butterflies all over again. I am co-leading a personal/professional development program for the women of MsTech (ms-tech.co). As their yoga instructor (along with the lovely Emily Louise emilylouiseyoga.com ), I am guiding them through 2.5 weeks of intentional practice in which the women can reflect on their goals and build the stamina to pursue them. These women are a group of motivated, crazy-smart entrepreneurs and they are full-out ready to change their industries (and probably the world if we let them).
Understandably, I was a little nervous teaching such an inspiring group. Sure the wrinkle of excitement in my stomach even caused me fumble a few cues, but I can live with that. The thrill of connecting with a room full of beginners who are ready to put their dedication behind connecting physical wellbeing with their personal and professional goals is energizing!
Therefore, my challenge to you today is to take on a project that might be a little intimidated. Learn from the challenge and remember why you do what you do. Bring back the beginner butterflies. Allow yourself the grace to fumble, and forge forward with newfound excitement for what you do.
