Let's Dive In!
Price Point 10/10
I am going to start here because honestly it matters. Good Yoga are (and should be) an investment. Not only is the garment industry one in which we really need to be conscious of how we are spending our dollar, when it comes to performance wear most often the price tag does impact the quality. At $68 these yoga leggings are not only much more affordable than most of the brands names out there, they offer a great value at that price AND they are totally transparent about their process ensuring that you are getting a great price and their values are also great too.
The "Float" Feel 9/10
I wasn't in the research and development team meeting when they decided on the name (obvi) but I am more than a little convinced that by their selection of the name 'Float' they were attempting to stack up against the Lululemon Align pant. The Align pant promises to have an almost naked feel. Girlfriend Collective calls it the 'next to nothing feel'. Knowing this going in, especially as someone who owns 2 pairs of Align pants, I had a good idea of what I was supposed to feel.
The fabric CRAZY SOFT and to be honest too soft? Like I actually do feel a little bit naked in them. But when it comes to moving around on the Yoga mat, they are oh-so-comfortable. The only reason I didn't give them a 9/10 is because I actually would have preferred a little bit more heaviness to the fabric. But I will say I have NO IDEA how they made such a lightweight fabric that doesn't show my butt crack when I bend over, and I am so glad they figured it out.
I like really do like the way these pants are cut. I got the 28.5" - the longer option - and I really like them. I have a 33" inseam in pants so when a pant is available in shorter and longer sizes, I'm always really appreciative. I'm sure my shorter sisters out there are just as happen with that type of choice.
The cut of these pants are pretty high and I am much more leg than I am torso. So since I have such a short torso I like to pair this pant with a normal sports bra or a shorter crop rather than the bra-tank tops, or bras with extra long bands. But honestly they look good with almost any top.
I think the only drawback for many people is that these pants do have a seam at the top. But since the material is so lightweight (i.e. you can enjoy moving in them and they don't feel like Spanx) you need a seam otherwise the waist tends to stretch out too much with regular use.
OK, they say 'true to size', but I found these to run slightly big - not really a problem, just an observation. Luckily they have a very easy to view size guide and an AWESOME range of sizes so every person can feel their best.
Bottom line, for the price, the look, the feel, and the performance of these pants, I think they are WELL worth it. The Float Pants are excellent for flowing on the Yoga mat. If you're also someone who likes to run in addition to flow, invest in the mid or high rise compression pant too. You won't be disappointed.
